Vijaypur April 08: In a continued crackdown on drug peddlers, Samba Police, led by SSP Vinay Sharma and executed by SHO Zaheer Mushtaq, has attached a single-storey residential house valued at approximately sixteen (16) lakhs belonging to notorious drug peddler Mohd Younis, S/o Noor Alam, R/o Rakh Barotian, Tehsil Vijaypur, District Samba.
This action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F of the NDPS Act of 1985 in connection with FIR Nos. (1) 203/2021 u/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of PS Vijaypur and (2) 204 /2021 u/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of PS Vijaypur.
The property was identified as illegally acquired during a police investigation into drug trafficking activities involving Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances by the drug peddler.
The move underscores Samba Police’s commitment to combat the drug menace, earning praise from local residents for this unprecedented initiative of the police department.
SHO Zaheer Mushtaq, known for his dedication to effective policing, aims to eradicate drug-related crimes from Vijaypur. In his earlier stints as SHO in Akhnoor, Miran Sahib, Sidhra, Peer Mitha and now Vijaypur, Zaheer Mushtaq has provided strict and effective policing, forcing the criminals, drug peddlers, and other anti-social elements to either go into hiding or shift their bases.
Meanwhile, sources indicate that Vijaypur police have identified more such drug peddlers and supporters, keeping a strict vigil over their activities, adding that soon their properties would be seized too.
