Jammu, Mar 28: In a relentless pursuit of justice, the Jammu police, under the leadership of SSP Dr. Vinod Kumar, has initiated proceedings under Section 82 of the CrPC against a PSA absconder, Mukesh Kumar alias Gesha, who has long evaded arrest. Mukesh Kumar, a habitual offender with a history of criminal activities, is wanted in multiple cases, prompting the authorities to take decisive action to ensure his apprehension.
A history sheeter namely Mukesh Kumar @ Gesha s/o Dilawar Kumar R/o Akhnoor who has been evading his arrest since long in a warrant issued by District Magistrate (DM) Jammu after which Akhnoor police processed the proclamation proceedings mandated under provisions of sections 12(a) & (b) of Public Safety Act 1978 to ensure the presence of the absconder so that the arrest warrant is executed.
The Competent Authority DM Jammu after pursual of all records has issued proclamation notice to the absconder namely Mukesh Kumar @ Gesha directing him to surrender before competent authority within a period of 30 days failing which action warranted under laws shall be taken against him.
To execute the proclamation proceedings mandated by the DM Jammu, joint teams comprising SP Rural Brijesh Sharma-JKPS, SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma-JKPS, SHO Akhnoor Tariq Ahmed, and Tehsildar Akhnoor Naresh Kumar, under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar, have served notices to Mukesh Kumar’s family members and pasted them in prominent places across Akhnoor. This coordinated effort aims to compel Mukesh Kumar to surrender within 30 days, failing which legal action will be pursued against him.
Mukesh Kumar’s extensive criminal record, including charges of attempted murder, assault, and arms violations, underscores the urgency of his apprehension.

The DM Jammu, acting on the recommendation of SSP Jammu, vide his Letter No. CRB/2024/DM/19072=74/DPOJ dated 29/02/2024 US CrPC Section 12 of Public Safety Act, has issued a notice invoking the Public Safety Act, further intensifying efforts to bring Mukesh Kumar to justice.
DM has issued a proclamation Notice of PSA vide No 372-73/DM/Judicial/2023-224 dated 15/03/2024.
