Jammu, March 27: Despite repeated warnings and a halt order from the concerned Tehsildar, landgrabbers have completed the construction of a boundary wall on disputed land under Khasra No. 1080 and 1081/1 at village Paloura, Tehsil Jammu North, leaving the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) in a state of crisis.
Following earlier reports of rampant land encroachment in Paloura, JDA Tehsildar Zone A/B urgently sought the demarcation of land under Khasra No. 1080 and 1081/1 from Tehsildar Jammu North vide his letter No. JDA/The-A/781-86 dated 23-03-2024, requesting Tehsildar Jammu North to demarcate the land and submit the report by 10. Am on 26-03-2024.
However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the demarcation process was delayed and completed on March 27, 2024. However, after the joint demarcation and on-site investigation by the team of Revenue and JDA officials it was confirmed that the encroached land indeed belonged to the JDA.
The pertinent question is that despite the instructions for stoppage of construction work by the concerned Tehsildar on March 23, 2024, landgrabbers brazenly continued their activities, completing the boundary wall on the disputed land.
This shocking turn of events follows earlier reports by Jammu Jottings on March 22, 2024 under headline, “Can JDA Stop Landgrabbers or Will They Reign Supreme?” and again followed it up on march 24 under headline, “Is JDA Running the Land Mafia in Jammu?”, highlighting the collusion between certain JDA officials and landgrabbers in the illegal encroachment of prime JDA land.
Questions now loom over the JDA’s response to this flagrant violation of its property rights.
The silence surrounding the involvement of JDA’s own employee in the land grabbing scheme raises concerns about accountability and integrity within the organization. Citizens demand swift and decisive action from the JDA against both the landgrabbers and its complicit employee.
The pressing inquiry emerges: Will the JDA promptly intervene and dismantle the unlawfully erected boundary wall, and what measures will it implement against its own employee implicated in colluding with landgrabbers to seize valuable JDA property?
Moreover, shouldn’t the JDA pursue legal action against those responsible for persisting with the illicit construction despite prior warnings?
What disciplinary actions will the JDA undertake regarding its employee’s involvement in the land grabbing scheme, and why does the JDA remain reticent regarding its employee’s culpability in this egregious misconduct?
