Jammu, March 07: In an unyielding stance against criminal activities, SSP Jammu, Dr. Vinod Kumar, continues to spearhead efforts to eradicate crime from the region. His unwavering commitment to upholding law and order is evident through the recent actions of the Jammu Police, under his vigilant supervision.
Among the commendable efforts is the relentless pursuit of SHO PS Domana, Inspector Arun Sharma, who joined his duties in February this year and swiftly made his mark by solving numerous crucial cases, including a significant drug bust.
The District Police Jammu maintains its zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse, as evidenced by the apprehension of three Orissa-based narcotic smugglers in the Domana and one in Trikuta Nagar area of Jammu District.
Acting on intelligence, a police team from Police Station Domana, led by SHO Inspector Arun Sharma and assisted by PSI Younis Khanday, intercepted three suspects during patrolling duty in the Muthi area.
The suspects, identified as Rakesh Mallick S/O Puran Chandra Mallick R/O Ragajuda, P/S Tikabal District Kandhamal, Orrisa, Sibasana Kanhar S/O Kanhar R/O Rangamatia, P/S Chakabad District Kandhamal Orrisa and Dayanidhi Naik S/o Bharat Naik R/O Pochalundi, P/S Tarshing District Ganjal Orrisa, all hailing from various districts in Orissa, were found in possession of 5 kilograms of Ganja each, totalling 15 kilograms.
A case under FIR No. 48/2024 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Domana, and the accused were promptly arrested.
The entire operation was conducted under the guidance of SSP Jammu Dr Vinod Kumar and close supervision of SDPO Domana, Sh. Mudasir Hussain, and SP Rural Brijesh Sharma, highlighting the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies in curbing drug trafficking.

Similarly, in a parallel effort to curb drug peddling activities in the Jammu District, the Police Party of Police Station Bahu Fort encountered a suspect during their routine patrol near Grand Inn Hotel in Trikuta Nagar today. The individual, identified as Bobby Kumar, attempted to evade the police upon their approach.
Displaying quick thinking and agility, the alert police party pursued and apprehended Bobby Kumar. Upon interrogation, he revealed his identity as Bobby Kumar, son of Mantu Mandal, hailing from Radhanagar Banka in Bihar, with a current address in Sector No.1, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. A thorough search of his belongings yielded alarming discoveries.
Inside Bobby Kumar’s bag, authorities discovered 560 grams of a substance resembling Ganja, along with a substantial sum of cash totalling ?77,000. Moreover, materials used for packaging Ganja were also recovered from the scene. In response to these findings, FIR No. 58/2024 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been lodged at Police Station Bahu Fort, Jammu, signalling the commencement of further investigations into the matter.
The swift and decisive action taken by the Jammu Police in apprehending Bobby Kumar underscores their unwavering commitment to combatting drug-related crimes.
