SDPO Akhnoor, Mohan Sharma, has been instrumental in executing 10 PITNDPS warrants and 7 PSA warrants against habitual offenders, land grabbers, drug peddlers, and bovine smugglers during his one-and-a-half-year tenure SDPO Akhnoor. Known as a terror among criminals, SDPO Mohan Sharma’s reputation precedes him, instilling fear in wrongdoers and compelling them to think twice before committing any unlawful act.
Meanwhile, SHO Akhnoor, Tariq Ahmed, has garnered praise for his commendable performance and swift results, earning him recognition among higher officials for his efficiency and dedication to duty.
In a groundbreaking move, the District Police Jammu has seized immovable property belonging to notorious drug dealer Rohit Dutta, amounting to approximately ?50 lakhs, in Rah Salyote tehsil Chowki-Choura District Jammu. Rohit Dutta, son of Hoshiar Chand and resident of Rah Salyote, is presently detained under PITNDPS Act by the Akhnoor police, following a warrant issued by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, and is lodged in district jail Kathua.
There are many cases against said accused including cases of drug peddling:
FIR No. 130/2020 u/s 304 IPC 8/21 NDPS Act P/S Kandi, FIR No. 67/2021 u/s 8/20/25 NDPS Act P/S Nowabad and FIR No. 43/2023 u/s 8/21 NDPS Act P/S Dharamshala.
The seized property, identified as ill-gotten gains acquired through illicit drug trafficking, was uncovered during a meticulous investigation conducted by the police team of Akhnoor Subdivision, with assistance from revenue teams. The operation, executed under sections 68-E read with 68-F of the NDPS Act of 1985, marks a significant milestone in the fight against drug trafficking and underscores the unwavering commitment of the District Police Jammu to eradicate the drug menace from the community.
The attachment of Rohit Dutta’s property serves as a stern warning to other drug peddlers, sending a clear message that law enforcement agencies will not hesitate to seize assets acquired through criminal activities.
