Jammu, Jan 31: The Jammu Development Authority (JDA) seems to have woken up to reality and initiated the long-pending process of identification, retrieval, and encroachment removal of its prime land from land grabbers by retrieving some of the encroached land from land grabbers near the Soap Factory in Paloura and installed its signboards, declaring the land as JDA property.
Even though the exact measurement of land and Khasra Nos are not available at the moment, Jammu Jottings will come out with specific details in our next edition, as we are following the story closely.
According to reliable sources, a JDA team along with the concerned revenue team today visited the spot where the allegations of land grabbing and encroachment were received at Paloura and took the GPS coordinates of the land besides removing some encroachments and installing signboards.
The sources said that JDA Tehsildar has conveyed in stern language that any JDA land where land grabbers or encroachers have usurped the JDA land will be investigated seriously, and whoever is found involved will be booked by lodging FIRs, adding some FIRs regarding the encroachment of the said land already stand registered at Janipur Police station.
He said that JDA is verifying the other encroachments that have taken place on JDA land, and soon FIRs and suitable action will be taken against the culprits, adding nobody will be spared.
He added that JDA has initiated a widespread process to verify the record of its land and identify the encroachers as well as the officials involved so that those misusing the official position for malafide intentions or issuing fraudulent documents are booked under the law, and nobody will be spared.
The JDA Tehsildar has also said that any involvement of any official or officer from JDA or Revenue would be viewed seriously, and departmental action initiated against them.
He also said that it was just the beginning, and more actions will follow in the days to come.
The sources said that JDA was regularly getting complaints about encroachment of its land near Soap Factory Paloura, prompting the JDA Tehsildar to write a letter to Tehsildar Jammu (North), wherein he stated that on January 31st, the JDA team would visit the spot citing various Khasra Nos regarding which the complaints were pouring in.
In the letter, the JDA Tehsildar said that his team needs the assistance of the Revenue team after which a joint team of JDA and revenue comprising Naib Tehsildar (Revenue), Girdawar Kaali Dass, and Patwari Paloura visited the spot and retrieved some land from the encroachers and installed signboards as well as taking photographs with GPS coordinates.
The JDA team will now prepare a detailed report, which will be finalized tomorrow after which Jammu Jottings will bring the latest developments for its readers.
