Akhnoor, Jan 25: In a shocking revelation, illegal mining activities have come to light on custodian land in the Nud area of Akhnoor. The Custodian Department appears to be inattentive, with blatant illegal mining of soil occurring unchecked on government-owned land.
Sources tipped off Jammu Jottings about the ongoing illegal activities in villages like Nud, Balgara, and Amabaran in Akhnoor Tehsil. Simultaneously, large-scale illegal sand mining from the Chenab River is reportedly taking place in Devipur, Chack Kirpalpur, and Maira.
Upon receiving this information, Jammu Jottings promptly informed the concerned authorities, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
