Rajouri, January 11: CRPF and district Rajouri police have foiled a possible attempt of the terrorists to trigger Improvised Explosive Device (s) either on Jammu-Poonch highway or at a crowded place.
In a joint operation CRPF & the police recovered 4 Tiffin IEDs along with a wireless set, mini-tape recorder and 23 AK rifle rounds during search operation launched in a forest area in Hayatpur area in Manjakot tehsil of Rajouri district.
Reliable sources said that on specific information personnel of 237 CRPF and Manjakot police launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in a forest near Hayatpur village.
During search of the forest the SFs recovered 4 IEDs made in the Tiffins and were found hidden in the forest.
Troops also recovered a mini-tape recorder, wireless set, and AK rounds during the search.
Experts believe that IEDs, weighing several kilograms, had a large damage radius if they were triggered by the terrorists under their nefarious design of terror plot.
The Security Forces have continued the search of the area and till late evening no more recovery was made.
No official statement has been issued by the district police office in this matter.
