Earlier today District Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya conducted a meticulous inspection of various tehsils in the Akhnoor region to evaluate their operations and the distribution of related public services.
The District Commissioner performed an extensive inspection of the government sub-district hospital in Akhnoor at around 10:15 am. During this visit, he toured various sections including emergency wards. He noted the absence of several staff members and sought clarification from them. He directed the concerned officials to take disciplinary action against any unprofessional conduct or lapses in punctuality.
He also requested the hospital staff to provide the biometric attendance of all employees for the last five days, which he took along with him. Accompanying him during the hospital inspection were Akhnoor SDM Akhil Sadotra and Akhnoor Tehsildar Surinder Singh.
The District Commissioner held a meeting with other officials, including Akhil Sadotra, to discuss how to enhance cleanliness and overall civic improvement in the city. They deliberated on how to improve sanitation and the general infrastructure.
Following this, he proceeded to the Khour tehsil office and assessed the record management of revenue services and the resolution of public grievances. He interacted with visitors and listened to their concerns. He also personally examined the quality of tar laid on the roads by the Public Works Department. During this time, he instructed all relevant officials to ensure timely and transparent delivery of services.
The District Commissioner inspected the Khour tehsil office and evaluated its performance and efficiency. Tehsildar Khour informed the District Commissioner about the ongoing issues with internet facilities at the office. The District Commissioner immediately directed SDM Khour to address this issue promptly.
He instructed both Tehsildars and other officials to ensure the timely and transparent delivery of services to the people. He expressed strong sentiments about punctuality and ethical conduct in their work.
The District Magistrate emphasized that the district administration will not tolerate any laxity or negligence in the execution of duties and responsibilities. He highlighted that the objective of these timely visits is to ensure accountability and excellence in governance and administration.
During his return, the District Commissioner inspected the widening of a closed road near the old bridge in Akhnoor. Local residents informed the District Commissioner that due to the ongoing road expansion project; their entire homes are at risk of being demolished, and they are not receiving any compensation. Upon learning about the issue, the District Commissioner discussed it with the SDM and Tehsildar of Akhnoor. The concerned officials explained to the District Commissioner that these houses are built on mortgaged land, which is why they are not receiving compensation. The District Commissioner assured the local residents of finding an appropriate solution for this issue.
