RS Pura Police Bust Drug Ring: 92.53 Grams of Heroin Seized, 3 arrested

Jammu, Jan 3: The SSP Jammu, Dr Vinod Kumar has asked all the SHOs and Chowki officers to tighten the noose around big and petty criminals who were spreading the drug menace in the district as also other criminals to make Jammu crime free district where rule of law prevails effectively.
He has set his agenda clear that no body should be spared who is found involved in any drug pedalling, supplying or selling in the district, which ha tarted showing results now with SHOs tightening the grip in their areas to nab such criminals without losing any time.
Executing the clear instructions of Dr Vinod Kumar, SSP Jammu to eradicate the drug menace in the district SHO, RS Pura, Inspector Naveen Angral has started showing the results within one week of his appointment by cracking down on drug pedlars and criminals who are trying to vitiate the atmosphere in the area.
He has sent a clear signal that nobody will be spared now and warned such elements to desist from illegal activity or spend their time behind the bars.
In this connection in a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, the Jammu Police successfully intercepted and arrested three individuals, leading to the recovery of 92.53 grams of heroin (Chita) within the jurisdiction of PS RS Pura.
A police team from PS RS Pura, led by SHO PS RS Pura, encountered a suspicious individual, Ashwani Kumar alias Kali, son of Mohinder Lal, residing at Rangpur Sidhrey Tehsil Suchetgarh District Jammu, during their patrol at Khanna Chak. Upon search, 0.5 grams of heroin was seized from his possession. Ashwani Kumar disclosed obtaining the contraband from a couple involved in local heroin distribution.
Following Ashwani’s disclosure, the police swiftly raided the suspected location and apprehended the accused couple: Ankush Kumar, son of Baru Ram, and Preeti, wife of Ankush Kumar, presently residing in Khanna Chak Tehsil R.S Pura District Jammu, who were trying to sell this heroine like substance to the passersby. During the search, Ankush Kumar was found in possession of 51.28 grams of heroin, while Preeti had 40.75 grams, totalling 92.53 grams (Chita) seized from the trio.
A case FIR No. 05/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29 of NDPS Act has been registered against the three accused at PS RS Pura. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts focused on uncovering the origins of the drug supply chain.
The arrest was made by a team of P/S R.S.Pura headed by Inspr. Naveen Angral, SHO P/S R.S.Pura under the close supervision of Nikhil Gogna, JKPS SDPO R.S.Pura, Shri Ramnish Gupta, JKPS, SP Hqrs Jammu & overall supervision of Shri Vinod Kumar, IPS, SSP Jammu
In another case RS Pura Police intercepted three individuals viz Vikram Singh, son of Kulbir Singh, resident of Chandu Chak Suchetgarh District Jammu, along with his associates Vishal Choudhary, son of Dev Raj, from Baspur, and Balbir Singh, son of Jagdish Raj, from Mana Tehsil Suchetgarh District Jammu, traveling from RS Pura towards Bidhipur Jattan in a vehicle with Registration No JK14C 0822. A sharp-edged weapon was recovered from their possession.
A case FIR No. 04/2024 U/S 4/25 Arms Act, 34 IPC has been registered at Police Station R.S. Pura against the accused. Investigations into both cases continue as RS Pura Police intensifies efforts to combat drug trafficking and curb the presence of sharp-edged weapons in the region.
Jammu Police has appealed the citizens to come forward and report any information regarding drug peddling, possession, consumption or illegal weapons on mobile No. 9086100100 or 100, adding their identity will be kept confidential.
The local population has hailed the efforts of the police department and appreciated their efforts eradicate the drug menace in the area.
Meanwhile SSP Jammu Dr Vinod Kumar has said that he has set an agenda to free Jammu from drug menace and warned the drug peddlers of serious consequences if they persist drug peddling in Jammu.
Inspector Naveen Angral SHO RS Pura who has joined just the last week has taken it upon himself to execute the drug free RS Pura plan of SSP Jammu and within a week made the arrests of hardened drug peddlers and criminals of the area.
