Jammu, Nov 30: The police of Jammu district under the direct supervision of its SSP Dr Vinod Kumar IPS, SP Rural Rahul Charak have substantiated its determination to quell the crime in the district by solving a murder case within shortest time period and arrested the main accused.
On November 29 at around 1315 hours one Parhald Singh informed the police through PCR that his son Raghav Jamwal @ Raghu resident of Nardani Raipur Bantalab aged around 19, has been Kidnapped by unknown person. He further stated that Raghav went to Janipur for computer training, but didn’t reach there.
After getting the information, immediately, the Police parties from PP Chinore and PS Domana were fanned out in the area and came to know that Raghav has not come to the Computer training centre at Janipur. In this connection, a FIR no 355/2023 u/s 363 was registered in concerned police station and SP Rural and SDPO Domana were directed to personally supervise the search conducted by the police parties.
Police through human and technical intelligence was able to zero in on the kidnapper. After hectic efforts, the kidnapper was traced out from his rented accommodation at Patoli during the intervening night and mobile phone of the victim was recovered from his possession which he has been using to make ransom calls.
The accused is identified as Satinder Kumar son of Chunni Lal Age-23 years resident of Main Bazar Kishtwar, presently residing at Patoli. He was acting alone in this crime.
The body of the deceased Raghav Jamwal @ raghu was recovered on the disclosure of accused from a jungle area adjoining Raipur Khari-Jagti link road where there is no habitation. The accused admitted the killing of victim Raghav by hitting with a stone on his head at around 1045-1100 am on 29/11/2023.
The accused was known to victim for the past 4-5 years.
The police, after completing the necessary legal formalities shifted the dead body to GMC, Hospital Jammu for conducting postmortem.
Further investigation to unravel the circumstances leading to the crime is going on.
