Jammu, Nov 15: Why not the J&K government and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board paying the dues of CSC volunteers who had rendered their services in odd hours? Why the J&K government and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board have neglected the unemployed youth (CSC volunteers) who have worked and helped the system in registering the yatries? What is the intention of J&K government and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board towards the CSC volunteers who have worked untiringly? Why not the J&K government and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board allotted the contract to such a person who is capable to make the payment to the poor CSC volunteers from his own pocket? These are some hard hitting questions for the administration and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board to come out to reply as people want to know about it.
The Jammu & Kashmir government and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board have forgot the helpless CSC volunteers who rendered their services to register the pilgrims who were visiting Shri Amarnath Ji shrine to pay obeisance during the period of yatra. The poor CSC volunteers who have rendered their services in the wee hours with a hope that they will get money and will able to run their affairs.
The work formally started in the last of June month and continued till August 30, the last day of the yatra. The yatra continued for two months as jointly decided by the J&K government and Shri Amaranth Shrine Board. The CSC volunteers, near about 65 to 70 have rendered their services in different registration and e-KYC centers with a hope that they will get the remuneration immediately as they have managed fare or fuel for their bikes to reach the destination before 7 am. Some of the CSC volunteers are so financial weak that they had borrowed money for fare but now under loan and unable to pay loan.
It is pertinent to mention that during 62 days long yatra (2023) for Shri Amaranth Shrine near about 4.28 lakhs yatries paid obeisance to holy shrine including some of the foreigners. The registration fee for Indian yatri was Rs 220 per person and Rs 1520 for foreigner yatries per person and so the Shri Amarnath shrine Board has earned a good amount.
