During a routine patrol along the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday, three soldiers received injuries in an explosion when they inadvertently stepped on a mine on Wednesday, which reportedly had drifted from its place due to heavy rains in the Mendhar sector of Poonch district.

Sources said that the explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) went off accidentally while, according to another report, the incident took place during the routine de-mining process in the Phagwari Gali area in the Mendhar sector.

According to reports all the soldiers received minor injuries and initially were evacuated to a nearby Army facility and later two soldiers were referred to Army Hospital at Rajouri for specialised treatment.

In the month of October a soldier, namely Gurucharan Singh was injured when he inadvertently stepped on an abandoned mine during patrolling along LoC in the Kalsian area of the Nowshera sector.

He was airlifted to Command Hospital at Udhampur after first aid on the spot.
