Jammu, Oct 25: Throwing rule books in the bin and misleading his senior a Patwari (revenue official) allotted more than 4 Kanal of custodian land to a non-refugee in connivance with property dealers in Barnai area of Jammu city two years back.
According to sources the Patwari is now posted in the district Kathua misleading his higher-ups for monetary benefits and connivance, land worth crores of rupees allotted to non-refugees, within the limit of Jammu Municipal Corporation’s limits in violation of rules.
“The Patwari abusing his official position allotted 4.1 Kanal of custodian land under section 3(A). Which is meant for refugees, only a refugee can avail custodian land under section 3 (A) that too for Agriculture purpose”, sources told Jammu Jottings adding that however, under section 3 (A) land could not be allotted under Municipal limits.
“But the Patwari who was of nexus of land grabbers and property dealers, keeping rules book aside and also keeping his superior in the dark stuck a deal and allotted a piece of land measuring 4.1 Kanals valuing in crores to a non-refugee person”, they said.
Meanwhile, the Jammu Jottings carried out a video sting operation of the fake allottee, in which he was seen claiming due undue favour from Patwari he (fake allottee) made his fortune and he owns land worth crores of rupees.
“Under section 3(A) custodian’s land allots to refugees for agriculture purposes only that too out of the municipal limits”, said an official of the Custodian department.
Ravinder Sharma, Custodian Evacuee Property Jammu said that the department came to about fake mutation of custodian land by some revenue officials recently. “We verify the allegations, if allegations are found correct the mutation will be canceled and action as per the rules will be initiated against erring officials”, he added.
