Jammu sep 6: Amid Chief Secretary’s Bhrashtachar Mukt week, a complaint was lodged against a corrupt Patwari, who during his posting in Bhalwal Tehsil issued Fards for Gair Mumkin Jaad, gathering dust in the office of the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu since June 2021.
“I filed a complaint on 19/06/2021 against the Patwari, in office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, who during his posting in Bhalwal Tehsil 2018 issued Fards against the Gair Mumkin Jaad and accumulated Crores of rupees, but till dated no action has been taken against the Patwari”, said the complainant, adding that presently the Patwari is posted in Jindrah Tehsil.
“I would like to submit this complaint against the aforesaid Patwari who has committed sheer misuse of his official position by issuing fard intkhabs of land (Gair Mumkin Jaad), thereby causing huge damage to the revenue record as well as forest land on the spot at revenue village Kangar, Tehsil Bhalwal, when he was posted at Kangar in the year 2018”, the complainant alleged in his complaint.
“I possess ample proof of revenue documents wherein irregularities have been deliberately committed by the Patwari in nexus with other revenue authorities during the year 2018, despite the fact that the Govt has imposed a ban on transfer, alienation or partition of land under “Forest Land (Gair Mumkin Jungle), and Wooded Wastes (Gair Mumkin Jaad)” categories which are also clear from the circular No. 03- FCR of 2019 dated 30.12.2019 issued by the then Financial Commissioner Revenue J&K”, the complainant added.
“There is an urgent need for immediate action against the Patwari who has minted huge amounts by issuing illegal Fards of this restricted category of land and he may be placed under suspension/dismissal till the final output of the investigation into this matter in a fair manner. This is just the tip of the iceberg and on proper inquiry in this matter whole iceberg of corruption will become public”, he added, but unfortunately, after a lapse of more than two years, no actions on the part of the Divisional Commissioner have been taken.
Meanwhile, on July 31, 2023, the then Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Avny Lavasa cancelled intqal issued from Bhalwal Tehsil in violation of laid down rules. “I appreciate, the Chief Secretary’s zero tolerance towards, but I also request him to keep a check on such black sheep who using their ill-gotten money to go scot-free, CS should set an example for corrupt public servants, who are making their fortune by abusing their official positions”, he added.
