Jammu, Aug 22: Under the Union Government’s programme NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAN, Anti Narcotic Task Force, Police Station Jammu Zone (specialized unit of JKP to tackle the menace of narcotic drugs), in a successful operation conducted raids at multiple locations in Jammu and arrested one hard-core narcotics drug supplier. The arrested person is identified as Ramprakash Gupta S/O Ved Prakash Gupta R/O Link Road, Jammu who is a notorious whole sale narcotic drug supplier of J&K. He was wanted in Case FIR No. 06/2023U/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of PS ANTF Jammu. He used to receive Narcotic and Psychotropic drugs which were being smuggled from Delhi to Jammu. He used to collect the consignments from Delhi and supply to local youth in Jammu to earn hefty illegal money. With the arrest of this main drug peddler, ANTF Jammu has been able to break the nexus of Narcotics and Psychotropic drug dealers of Jammu and Delhi. He was putting life of thousands of youths at risk by making them drug addicts. This arrest is a big sigh of relief for the sleuths as well as youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Other drug peddlers and his clients involved in this nexus are being investigated and more arrests are expected in near future. The raid and arrest were executed by Inspector Amandeep Singh of ANTF Jammu under the guidance of Shamsher Singh JKPS, DYSP PS ANTF Jammu Zone under the supervision of Shri. Raj Kumar SSP ANTF J&K.
ANTF J&K appeals general public and youth to stay away from drugs and to share any kind of information regarding drug related activities with ANTF so that strict legal actions are taken against such drug dealers as per law. The identity of the informant as well as whistle blower shall be kept confidential. The fight against drug abuse can be won if society comes forward with police in tracing drug peddlers which can help in breaking the supply – demand chain so that the target of complete eradication of menace of drugs from our society can be achieved.
