Bungling in recruitment of NRHM
- The CMO Poonch ignores the directions of the DC Poonch and said that he was unaware about it.

Poonch, Aug 04: Why is the shortlisted list of the NHM Poomch lacked of the column showing merit of the candidates? Why is the select list of the NHM Poomch lacked of the column showing merit of the candidates? Why has not the selection committee/examining committee deemed proper to put a column showing merit list of the concerned candidates? Why not the CMO Poonch has considered the directions of the DC Poomch for showing the merit list? These are very typical questions being raised by the applicants who have applied for the posts advertised in two different notifications.
On one hand government claims that it is trying best to bring transparency in each sector but on other, the Chief Medical Officer Poonch and some officials at CMO office has allegedly bungled in recruitment of National Health Mission.
The Candidates alleged that CMO and some officials in CMO office dumped deserving candidates whose merit are high and appointed those whose merit is low besides appointed blue eyed candidate on the posts under NHM.
Pertinent to mention here that the applications were invited from ‘eligible’ candidates for contractual hiring of services under National Health Mission, J&K but when interviews were conducted eligible were sidelined and ineligible were given preference.
While talking to correspondent, the aspirants on the condition of anonymity said that the written of the candidates of district Poonch were held in March 2023, but they fail to understand if selection list has released then why merit list has not been released.
They suspected something fishy in the selection process, said the aggrieved applicants.
Several eligible candidates have been deprived of jobs in the National Health Mission (NHM) in the state allegedly due to faulty selection procedures. However, the manner of short listing and selection of candidates without showing merit has put a big question mark on the transparency of the selection process. Pertinent to mention here that the applications were invited from ‘eligible’ candidates for hiring of services under National Health Mission, J&K but when interviews were conducted eligible were sidelined and ineligible were given preference. Reliable sources in the Health department told Correspondent that the department had advertised two post of Junior Staff Nurse for DH Poonch, two post of X-Ray technician CHC Mendher, one post of ISM Dawasaaz CHC Mandi of Poonch district, under notice no. NHM/CMO/P/ACT/2022 dated 16-08-2022.
Sources said the officials of CMO office have compromised on selection of candidates under centrally-sponsored scheme National Health Mission (NHM), as a candidate without Experience and ineligible was selected. The angry petitioners say that when we met District Development Commissioner Poonch Yasen M Choudary and demanded to show the merit list, he wrote to CMO Poonch to show the merit list but CMO Poonch ignored the order of DC Poonch and Viva of the shortlisted candidates was conducted. Peoples of Poonch request LG administration and District Development Commissioner Poonch to conduct an enquiry of this recruitment through a specific team and demanding a high level inquiry and strict action should be taken against whoever is found guilty. It may be mentioned here that DC Poonch has been Mission Director NHM earlier, he knows all the terms and conditions of NHM Recruitment.
Despite this, what is the reason why they are not interfering in this recruitment? People hopes that he will definitely intervene and make fair recruitments.
The CMO Poonch told on telephone that the examination committee has done opted the legal procedure for making appointments. He said that his office is open to all and anyone can see the merit list, if any candidate want to see. He expressed his ignorance about the directions of DC Poonch to show the merit list. He said that there is no any sort of malpractice in the process of the recent appointments under NHM.
