Jammu, July 24: The forum of authorised officer, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Batote today initiated confiscation proceeding against trucking carrying Deodar made furniture, seized near Forest check post Nashri Tunnel on Monday.
“Today the forum of Authorized Officer, DFO, Batote, initiated confiscation proceedings against vehicle no HR-38-AE-4689 for illegally transporting Deodar made furniture without valid documents”, a Forest Spokesperson said, adding that the proceedings would include confiscation of vehicle, confiscation of furniture items and criminal proceeding against all involved in the illegal transportation of Forest produce without permission and valid documents.
“This Division has tightened the noose against illegal activities and in the past 4 such attempts has been foiled. The operation of seizure and confiscation thereof has been initiated after seizure by Vijay Khosla, Range Officer Batote. The whole operation was carried out under the direct supervision of B.M.Sharma APCCF Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu and Kuldeep Singh, Divisional Forest Officer, Batote”, the spokesperson added.
