Stringent action is round the corner as Dheeraj Gupa will not spare anyone in illegal Khair felling case

Jammu, Jun 20: The Forest department has announced the enquiry in the illegal felling of Khair and other trees on March 02, 2023 and since then there is no outcome of the enquiry report, which is worrisome.
The issue of said illegal felling of Khair and other tress has got much hype and then a high level enquiry was ordered by the Principal Secretary- Forest, Ecology and Environment Deptt, J&K. Dheeraj Gupta to prove the allegations.
The high-level inquiry committee was mandated by the Principal Secretary Forest to investigate the issue of illegal felling must be minutely investigated so that no any guilty person goes unpunished. There are some unconfirmed reports that high-level inquiry has almost completed the inquiry and report has compiled.
The Principal Secretary Dheeraj Gupta is on job and monitoring the situation and no any person found guilty at any level would be spared. In coming days we will come up with more information and facts. He assured that action would be taken against the culprit in one of his messages.
It is pertinent to mention that the issue of illegal cutting/felling of Khair in Khour and Akhnoor sub division has been taken up by the department and they constituted the committee to enquire the illegal cutting/felling of Khair trees but till date no outcome has been witnessed. To hoodwink the people, the concerned DFO had constituted a committee vide its office letter No DFO-J/8732-38 dated 02-03-2023 and included six members including Sameer Rahi Range Officer; Pawan Sharma Range Officer Kalidhar; Varinder Sharma Range Officer; Sourav Chandel Forester; Vinay Sharma Forester; and Amit Gupta Forester.
