Families on Monday blocked highway demanding justice for 7 martyrs

Rajouri, June 13: Following a massive protest demonstration and blocking of the Jammu-Poonch highway for about 8 hours on Monday by the families of victims of Dhangri massacre demanding identification and arrest of the culprits behind the attack, NIA team (already investigating the incident) reached Rajouri and met with the members of the families & assure investigation is in progress.
The families alleged that for the last more than 6 months they have heard (quoting DGP statement) that the case has almost been solved, but we were not informed either about the identification of those who facilitated the attack or about the trace of the terrorists involved in the heinous attack.
The victims families sought the identification and arrest of the culprits behind the attack without any further delay.
Before calling off the protest, the families gave a memorandum to SSP mentioning the names of four suspects, and demanding action against them and also Narco test of one among them.
The NIA team reached Rajouri today, met with the members of the families, and also re-questioned those mentioned in the memorandum.
NIA assured families that the case is already under investigation and can’t predict a time limit for the final report.
For Narco Analysis NIA require either person’s consent or an order from the Court.
Reportedly, NIA also informed the families that the agency’s method of investigation is full-proof & different from other investigating agencies.
As per reports, Saroj Bala (mother of two siblings killed in the Dhangri massacre on January 1) gave a fortnight time for identification & action against the facilitators of the terror attack and said: “If failed then they will approach the Prime Minister through proper channels”.
