Samba, May 18: Skilful and honest policing can very helpful in eradicate the crime from the society and it has been substantiated by the Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh who within four months have arrested several thieves and 57 bovine smugglers, which is another milestone in the police department.
The police under the overall supervision and wise guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh has arrested two notorious bovine smugglers, foiled two separate bovine smuggling attempts and rescued 28 bovine animals.
The reports pouring in the office said that, Alert Samba Police has foiled two separate bovine smuggling attempts at Nud and Mansar, registered two separate FIRs under section 11 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and section 188 IPC, whereas two notorious smugglers have been arrested. Further investigation is underway to reach out the main source.
The bovines were being smuggled to Kashmir valley during odd prohibited hours obviously to give a dodge to police so that they may escape from police clutches. The arrested notorious bovine smugglers have been identified as Bhotu son of Fareed Ali resident of Khairi Kheri tehsil Bishnah district Jammu and Shadab Son of Mehar Deen resident of Saharanpur (U.P).
Bovine smuggling attempts were foiled by police team comprising of Incharge Police Post Mansar Deepak Sharma and ASI Ashok Kumar under the supervision of SHO Police Station Samba Rajeshwar Singh, Deputy SP Garu Ram Bhardwaj and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
It is pertinent to mention that total 57 bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in four months after the launch of special drive on the directions of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, fifty two (52) FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, forty three (43) vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and five hundred thirty seven (537) bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.
