SFs recovered Rs 2 lakh cash, ammunition attached to recovered Pakistani drone

Rajouri, April 13: The Indian Army in a joint search operation launched at about 10.30 pm on Wednesday in Sunderbani tehsil of the Rajouri district recovered a Pakistani drone along with a consignment of cash & ammunition attached to it.
The drone and the packet attached to it were brought to Brigade HQs at Sunderbani.
On the opening of the packet SFs recovered Rs 2 lakh Indian currency (Rs 500 denomination), 131 rounds of AK-47 rifle along with 5 magazines and 5 slings.
PRO Defence Jammu, Lt Col Devender Anadnd said; “On the intervening night of 12-13 April the alert troops of Indian Arm in coordination with JK Police recovered a Drone crossing the LoC from Pakistan into Indian territory in the Beri Pattan area of Sunderbani sector. 131 rounds of AK 47, 5 magazines & Rs 2 lakh in cash have been recovered”.
According to residents of Kangri & Tarkri villages at about 10 pm on Wednesday they heard a buzzing sound of a drone about 4-5kms from the LoC.
They informed officers of the Army unit responsible for the area and the police at Sunderbani.
Immediately a search operation was launched and at about 2 am the SFs recovered the drone along with the consignment.
The drone having four batteries reportedly fell down after hitting a big tree. Agencies have started a further investigation to find out whether the consignment was sent to this area or to other destination and to know who are the OGWs working for Pakistan.
