Ritu Singh inaugurates ‘eco Mela’ to celebrate rich cultural heritage of Jammu

Jammu, Mar 30: Chairperson FICCI Flo J&K and Ladakh chapter, Kunwarni Ritu Singh on Thursday inaugurated an ‘eco-Mela’ here to promote sustainability and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Ritu Singh, who is also the Chairperson of Suryaputri Tawi Ma Project and Founder of Maharaja Hari Singh Foundation, said that the event, which was held to mark Ramnavami festival, was organized by the Civil Society of Jammu in collaboration with several NGOs and organisations such as INARA, Climate Front Jammu, LFO-BH Foundation, D QUEERS from Jammu, Flock Giving Jammu, FACT organization, Anjana Trust, and DISHA Jammu NGO.
“The eco-MELA has the participation of several sustainable and local business stalls that are showcasing their handicrafts, eco-sustainable businesses, and artistic work of Jammu,” she said, adding that the event promotes the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and offers various activities and entertainment options for people of all ages.
The handicrafts, eco-sustainable businesses, rich culture, and artistic work of Jammu are on display at the mela (fair).
Kunwarni Singh played a pivotal role in guiding the organizations in the inaugural ceremony, and her lead role in the phenomenal maha aarti of Tawi added to the sanctity of the ceremony with salutations and prayers to Devi Ma and Suryaputri Tawi Ma Aarti.
She also took a step forward in guiding Jammu’s youth to work towards the betterment of the Suryaputri Tawi and the City of Jammu.
Singh appreciated the businesses community that participated in the event and assured them of her guidance in expanding their businesses.
Her guidance and leadership have been instrumental in making the event a grand success and commitment to promoting sustainability and cultural heritage has been truly inspiring and her past experiences and initiatives in promoting sustainability and cultural heritage will undoubtedly be invaluable to the Tawi movement.
On March 29, a grand langar (community kitchen) and Chabil for the devotees who came to submerge the Holy Sakh was prepared while on Thursday back to back live cultural shows like singing, dancing and live artist were performed including performance by Jammu’s renowned singer Sonali Dogra on folk song ‘Pakhi’.
Kunwarni Singh has been actively involved in several initiatives aimed at promoting these values and has played a key role in several notable projects besides being instrumental in promoting sustainable business practices and has worked to empower women entrepreneurs.
The eco-Mela organised is a testament to her vision and leadership that provided a platform for local businesses and artisans to showcase their work, and it also offered a unique opportunity for people to learn about the rich cultural heritage of Jammu. UNI
