Big scam in Forest
- It is time for LG Manoj Sinha to have a surgical strike in forest department and sack all culprits of biggest Thandi Choi illegal Khair felling scam.

Jammu, Mar 28: Why Forest Officials are anxious to allow the transportation of illegal felled Khair? Why one of the senior officers of the Forest department is trying to sabotage the enquiry into illegal felling of Khair trees? Why the senior officer is interested to get the illegal felling to be transported to other place? What is the intention of the said Forest officer? Is he wanted to indirectly support the persons who are involved in this illegal felling? These are very hard-hitting questions irritating in the mind of people and need to be answered by the senior most officer of the Forest department.
The most intriguing part of the story is that the sources reveal that Factory owners, Contractors are camping in the office of DFO Jammu to get transportation permission before 31st March, which will completely hamper the enquiry process. If the transportation of Illegal felled Khair is allowed than the enquiry would be cruel joke with department itself and it would not only hamper the enquiry but it would be mega boost for the timber-robbers in future too. In the guise of permission Khair smugglers wants to transport illegal felled Khair from Dori, Balli, Gulaba and other adjoining villages. These villages are mentioned in the complaint but enquiry team have not paid a single visit there till date.
As per the sources, today, the Enquiry Committee was compelled to submit report in hurry, which would be a bundle of lie and devoid of facts. Whereas, without submitting the exact facts it would be like an eye-wash and Jammu Jottings would not allow this. There are many facts to substantiate the illegal felling and after their visit, one of the top ranked members has accepted with our correspondent about the illegal felling is done from forest and number is huge. He further accepted that in Forest land during their visit they have seen the track that JCB have been used which indicates large scale of felling in forest was conducted. He also said that he have identified the two files which have been marked inside the forest. But today as per our sources they have recommended that we are unable to identify the forest hence revenue or demarcation wing should be called for the demarcation of forest first.
The most strange thing is that from Forest Guard to DFO no one knows where is the Thandi Choi Forest. It is fact that there is 10000+ Kanals Forest and Boundary Pillars were constructed there in 1995 and 2005-2006 but at present none from Department know where is forest? By Illegal Khair felling to lose the forest land this scam is turning bigger with each passing day.
There is tactical fraud in sanctioned files also as it was an organised crime in which revenue officials have also played their role. Forest Department should re-verify the titles of all 89 files.
