Visit of DFO Jammu fails to reach on spot, remains a futile exercise

Jammu, Mar 26: Why the incharge Range Officer Varinder Sharma accompanied the Divisional Forest Officer Jammu Anup Kumar Soni IFS with a purpose to visit the location where illegal felling was done? Why only one member of the designated enquiry committee incharge Range Officer Varinder Sharma accompanied the DFO Jammu? What was the intention of incharge Range Officer Varinder Sharma by misleading the DFO Jammu? Why has the DFO Jammu chosen one member of the enquiry committee except Pawan Sharma? Why have the selective members of enquiry committee accompanied the DFO Jammu? Why not they let the DFO Jammu to visit across the house of one Goga Ram towards the nallah? Why not they let the DFO Jammu to visit Kharah Beat after crossing the nalah where the illegal felling was done? Why not they let the DFO Jammu to enter the two nallah’s where maximum felling was done? Why have not they visited across the hut of bakkarwals where actual felling is done? Why has not DFO verified the Khasra No mentioned in the complaints? Why not the DFO tried to find the Forest Boundary Pillars? These are some critical questions irritating in the mind of people and needed to be answered by the concerning Forest officers.
The Conservator of Forest Jammu East Circle directed the DFO Jammu to visit the spot as the people lodged complaints of illegal felling and following his directions the GFO Jammu paid a visit which was a futile exercise. The DFO Jammu could not pay the visit to the actual spot where the illegal felling of Khair was done from the forest land.
The DFO Jammu Anup Kumar Soni was accompanied by the Range Officer Kalidhar Pawan Sharma and Range Officer Varinder Sharma. It is understood that Range Officer Pawan Sharma has not shown the exact locations to the DFO Jammu but it is beyond to understand that why Enquiry Committee Member Incharge Range Officer Varinder Sharma (Who is on Deputation in Forest Department) misled DFO Jammu.
The most intriguing part of the story is that the DFO Jammu has not taken the officers of Demarcation wing along with him. If he had taken the officers of demarcation wing then the actual position has been made clear regarding forest land by identifying the forest land which could be helpful in accessing the actual loss from the forest land. The finding of DFO Jammu still awaited and I promise that I will publish subject to get the report.
