• The Jammu district police under the wise guidance of SSP Chandan Kohli has made up its mind to make the entire Jammu district as a crime free destination.

Jammu, Mar 13: Police have Jammu district has become pro-active under the direct supervision of its skilled and visionary Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Kohli IPS and taking head-on the drug-peddler and other criminals with iron handed.
Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 100 grams of heroin i.e 50 grams of heroin in the jurisdiction of Police Station City, 40 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like substance alongwith 02 weapons & 10 grams of heroin from two different accused in the area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Miran Sahib.
A police team of PS City led by SDPO North Sunil Kumar Kesar led by SHO PS City Inspr Kunal Singh Jamwal and I/C PP Residency PSI Darshan Singh while on patrolling duty rounded up two suspects who were coming from Prem Nagar towards Gandoo Di Chawni. During search, 50 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.
In this regard, case FIR No 14/23 U/S 8/21/22 Of NDPS Act got registered in PS City and two accused got arrested. Both the accused arrested were later identified as Karan alias Lock Chand S/O Rajinder Kumar and Raju Masih S/O Hardev Singh both residents of Gurdaspur Punjab.
The arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP City North Kulbir Handa.
Similarly another police team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh assisted by SHO PS Miran Sahib Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq and PSI Mohd Altaf and PSI Gopal Singh while on naka duty at Village Kotli Mian Fateh, Miran Sahib rounded up two suspects who were coming from Bishnah towards Miran Sahib on their vehicle bearing Registration No JK02DB-1087. During search, 50 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.
In this regard, case FIR No. 60/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29/60 NDPS Act, 3/25 Arms act got registered in PS Miran Sahib and accused got arrested. Accused arrested were later identified as: Gagandeep Singh S/o Paramjeet Singh R/o Camp Gole Gujral, Talab Tillo Jammu, arrested with 40 grams of heroin and two weapons and second Sahil Choudhary S/o Karnail Singh R/o Chak Alawal Tehsil R S Pura Distt. Jammu, arrested with 10 grams of heroin.
It is pertinent to mention that accused namely Sahil Choudhary was involved in number of cases and his arrest was also required in case FIR no. 53/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29/60 NDPS Act of P/S Miran Sahib.
The overall operation was done under the supervision of SP Hqrs Ramnish Gupta, whereas, further investigation of the cases is going on
