• It is proper time to handover this huge scam to the professional investigating agency CBI as departmental enquiry committee will not successful.
• The honest Lt Governor is watching all these frauds and malpractices in Forest Department especially in Kalidhar Range and LG will make a surgical strike.
•  This is multilayered scam in the Forest department and the mobiles of concerned forest officers may be investigated by the CBI to bring the truth in open.

Jammu, Mar 12: Why the Enquiry Committee is not investigating the huge Forest scam on war-footing speed? Why the Enquiry Committee is investigating the issue on snail’s pace? What is the intention of the Enquiry Committee in this case? Why not the Enquiry Committee has seized the record of range Office Range Kalidhar? Why has not the Enquiry Committee respected the order and completed the investigation within three days as mentioned in the order? Why the Enquiry Committee took 13 days instead of 3 days as mentioned in enquiry order but still not an iota has been enquired in the matter? Why is the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Jammu & Kashmir silent over the huge scam? These are very hard questions irritating in the mind of people and now it is for the Forest department and administration to come on and reply all theses such questions.
The Jammu Jottings has published the news item for illegal cutting/felling of tress and Khair tress and on March 2, the Forest department has woken up from the deep slumber and ordered an enquiry dated 02-03-2023 vide No DFO-j/8732-38 after seeing the news. Even it is mentioned in the order of constitution of Enquiry Committee that the Divisional Forest officer Jammu Forest Division Anup Kumar Soni IFS had come to know through the news published in Daily Jammu Jottings dated 02-03-2023 and so he has ordered the enquiry. One thing has emerged crystal clear that the entire Forest department is in deep slumber, whereas the department and its system has totally collapsed and they are totally failure in checking the illegal cutting/felling of the trees as they are only name sake officers and drawing handsome salaries and enjoying other perks for which they do not deserve if their performance may be compared.
The sources revealed startling revelations that there is more than 10000 kanals land of Forest/Qism Forest land in Thandi Choi but the some officers were denying it and it is another well planned scandal managed by the Forest officers may be upto higher level and it is the reason that every Forest officer is silent over the issue.
The Enquiry Committee was supposed to submit its reports within three days but after the lapse of 13 days it failed to even seize the record from concerning Range office. The Enquiry Committee allegedly in the mode to provide enough time to the culprits so that the mandatory evidences might be erased at every level and it is the proper way to save the culprits as they might have some links with higher-ups. The record needed for their enquiry lies with range officer which must be seized.
Another intriguing part of this illegal cutting/felling scam that they have declared that there is no Forest land, whereas the demarcation wing has constructed the Boundary Pillars and they installed the Boundary Pillars in Thandi Choi Forest areas. It means that denial made by the Kalidhar Ranger is a plan of the scam and this should be viewed seriously. The investigation committee must investigate from the concern Ranger and his mobile also investigated properly. The white lie of the concern Ranger speaks many things in high volume.
It is very astonishing that the Ranger Kalidhar has deliberately damaged the Forest department and in convenience with Revenue officials have mislead and cheated higher ups by twisting some facts regarding forest land in Thandi Choi. Enquiry Committee must investigate it thoroughly but it is the proper time that honest Lt Governor must hand over this case to CBI as it is only professional agency to investigate.
