Jammu, Mar 08: Thousands of aspirants of JKSSB came out from their houses and assembled at Dogra Chowk Jammu and simultaneously at Partap Park Kashmir province. The aspirants were protesting against the rude attitude of JKSSB and JKUT administration for hiring a blacklisted company to conduct very mandatory recruitment exams of the youth.
Whereas, leaders of Youth Against Corruption including Vinkal Sharma, Atul Sudan, Kartik Bhagat along with two dozen were detained by the Jammu Kashmir Police. Amid the arrest of their leaders, aspirants came out on the roads to protest against the arrest. Not only this, the Jammu Kashmir Police used lathi charge to disperse the peaceful and unarmed protesting aspirants. During the lathi charge around 1 dozen aspirants including boys and girls received minor injuries.
Speaking during the protest Vinkal Sharma said that JKSSB and JKUT had hired a blacklisted company Aptech for conducting very imperative exams. He said that this company is blacklisted in many states and recently in the last two months this blacklisted company has compromised/leaked many crucial national level exams including KVS, NVS, CTET etc. He said that the government has failed to ensure fair recruitment in Jammu Kashmir.
He said that JKSSB did not learn anything from its prior frauds as it hired again a blacklisted company which is indulged in malpractices over more than 10 recruitment exams conducted in various states.
“We approached JKSSB to not lend our recruitments in the hands of a private tainted firm but they unheard our plea. When we approached the High Court and a historical judgement was passed against the company, the whole JKUT Administration went to the Double Bench seeking stay on the judgement,” they said and alleged that JKUT Administration was shielding a tainted firm.
Atul Sudan Youth Activist while addressing the gathering condemned the police lathi charge on the peacefully protesting aspirants. He said we have four core demands i.e. immediately roll back the calendar issued by JKSSB, remove Aptech from conducting government recruitments, Technical Investigation into exams conducted by Aptech and a strong law against those involved in Paper Leak Scams. He said this mass agitation will not stop unless these four demands are addressed. He said this is a decisive fight against corruption in recruitment.
Aispirant Kartik Bhagat condemns the lathi charge and warns LG Administration that this kind of behaviour is not acceptable and if demands of aspirants are not fulfilled than this is just a trailer today in which thousands are on the roads in Jammu and Srinagar but it will turns into lakhs if demands are not fulfilled timely. He further stated that we aspirants went to each and every post and pillar of the administration but no one addressed our genuine issues which forced us to come on roads. He warned LG Administration that lakhs will come out of their houses if our genuine demands are not fulfilled.
Meanwhile ADC (Law and Order) Jammu Harvinder Singh (IAS) called on the protesting aspirants and listened to their genuine demand. He assured them that all four demands will be taken up with the appropriate levels to get them addressed. Aspirants announced that their agitation will continue unless their demands are accepted.
