Jammu, Feb 22: A 28-year-old youth was shot dead allegedly by his friend after the two had a heated argument over a minor issue on the outskirts of Jammu, officials said on Wednesday.
Arvind Singh Jamwal died on the spot after being shot by Lakhan Partap Singh using his father’s 12-bore gun at Gharota late Tuesday night, the officials said.
Quoting the preliminary investigation by police, they said the two had a heated argument over some petty issue.
Arvind Singh Jamwal later went to the house of Lakhan Partap Singh on his call and was shot dead by him, the officials said.
In this regard a case FIR no. 21/2023 U/S 302 IPC 3/25 Arms Act stand registered and within two hours police teams of police station Gharota arrested the accused Lakhan Partap Singh from National Highway near Nagrota when he was trying to evade. The dead body of deceased shifted to mortuary room GMC Jammu from where after the post-mortem of the deceased dead body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs.
