Jammu, Feb 12: The police of Jammu district under the skilled guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu Chandan Kohli IPS has intiated crusade against the drug-peddling in the Jammu district and in this sequence the Bus Stand police has foiled an attempt of drug-peddler to peddle the heroin like substance in the Jammu.
Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 6 grams of heroin alongwith two syringes from an accused in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bus stand.
A police team of PS Bus stand led by SDPO North Sunil Kumar Kesar assisted by SHO PS Bus stand Inspector Vishal Dogra while on naka duty rounded up a suspected person who was coming on his motor cycle bearing Registration no.JK02AG 6521.
During search, 6 grams of heroin alongwith two syringes were recovered from his possession.
In this regard, case FIR No 11/2023 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act got registered at PS Bus stand and accused got arrested. Accused arrested was later identified as Varun Jandiyal S/o Bachan lal R/o Rehari colony Jammu. Further investigation of the case is going on.
The Jammu police is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain.
