Govt teacher suspended for misbehaving with minor girl students

Rajouri, Feb 9: Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Balakot in Poonch district vide his order (No.ZEO/BKT/Acctt/719 dt 9/2/2023) placed under suspension a government teacher posted in middle school allegedly for misbehaving with girl students.
The matter seems to be more than misbehaving as ZEO order reads: “The teacher committed offence which is punishable under rule,”.
Five teachers, including four females, are posted in middle school at Dhargloon situated in the vicinity of ZEO’s office.
During a visit to the school by the ZEO in the afternoon, only one male teacher was present and on enquiring, ZEO was told that 3 female teachers went to express condolences to family members of a deceased person and the fourth female teacher was on authorised leave.
The ZEO has also sought explanations from three female teachers after the suspension of the male teacher.
ZEO order said that on hearing cries of two minor girls, he along with ZEPO Balakot, Mohd Iftkhar Ahmed; lecturer & Master posted in HSS Dhargloon, Javed Ahmed & Ayaz Ahmed Khatan respectively and PEM, Nahyeem Ahmed, visited the school again at 12.30 pm.
“After observing the facts of the matter, it was established that the teacher committed offence which is punishable under rule,” ZEO order further read.
In the order, ZEO also mentioned: “Keeping in view the serious nature of the matter the teacher Mohd Taj is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect & directed to report in the office of the Deputy Chief Education Officer (CEO), Poonch (office at Mendhar) till pending inquiry against him.
Meanwhile, sources said that the parents of both girls also reached the school and a formal complaint has been lodged with the police against the erring teacher, who reportedly has been detained for further investigation.
