Jammu, Feb 08: How these two allegedly corrupt officers got connected with each other, despite having different departments? When both of them have worked together? How they have worked in the same department and minted the money? Who is this character namely Abdul Hameed Bhat Senior Assistant in the SDD? What is the role of Abdul Hameed Bhat, Senior Assistant posted at the Directorate of Skill Development Department at Jammu? How many years Abdul Hameed Bhat has been working in the same office? Why the Directorate of SDD entered in helter-skelter after spreading of this news? Why the lecturer of SDD is a part of corruption with the officer of Tourism department? These are very important questions which would be most helpful for CBI to investigate the roots of the corruption in this case and the roots are linked with the Directorate of SDD and Abdul hameed Bhat.
The Central Bureau of Investigation arrested an official of Tourism Development Corporation and a lecturer of Polytechnic College in a bribery case, who were accepting the bribed money.
According to a statement, CBI today arrested a Chief Accounts Officer (KAS), Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation and a Lecturer, Govt. Polytechnic College in a bribery of Rs. 2.3 lakh. Both are birds of the same feather and flock together. The arrested Sajjad Ahmed KAS has worked in Skill Development Department for 30 months approximately and the lecturer Shokat Ali has developed relation with him. As per the reports pouring in the office that both were having corrupt mindset and they worked on the same track. Meanwhile the Sajjad Ahmed got transferred to Tourism department but till date both have entered in firm friendship based on minting money. The statement reads a case was registered on complaint against the accused on the allegations that the Chief Accounts Officer demanded bribe of Rs. 2.3 lakh through the lecturer from the complainant for processing payment in respect of bills submitted by his firm.
“CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 2.3 lakh from the Complainant in hotel at Jammu. Searches are being conducted at the official and residential premises of the accused,” it reads.
It reads both the arrested, identified as Sajad Ahmed, Chief Accounts Officer and Shokat Ali, Lecturer, will be produced tomorrow before the Court of Special Judge CBI cases, Jammu.
The said lecturer has created several firms to supply various items to the SDD department and to mint money and this concern the Abdul Hameed Bhat Senior Assistant in the SDD has helped him a lot. Abdul Hameed Bhat Senior Assistant in the SDD has two big houses one in Jammu and other in Kashmir province. He lives like a king and having property of worth crores of rupees. The CBI must investigate the property of Abdul Hameed Bhat to ascertain the truth. There are many skeletons in the cupboard of SDD and all skeletons must be taken out.
Abdul Hameed Bhat, Senior Assistant at the Directorate of Skill Development Department at Jammu has been in close tie-up with the Polytechnic Lecturer and being for decades posted in the Directorate has been earning a lot illegally by frauds of the nature coming fore by the arrest of the Polytechnic Lecturer to the extent of constructing a spacious second house at Jammu. So, his property is disproportionate to his known source of income.
