Jammu, Feb 06: During the removal of illegal encroachment from state land at Narwal Malik Market, some goons have resorted violence and stone pelting on the police and officials of revenue department and in this connection the police under the wise guidance of SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli had arrested seven persons for stone pelting, attacking on the police party, besides vandalizing.
The raids by the police continued on Monday as well. The police had booked these violators, whereas, apart from attempt to murder, the police have registered a case under several sections. Under the same spree, the action continued on Monday as well, so that police can nab all those accused, who were involved in stone pelting. The police have scanned the CCTV footage in this case, which are installed in the area for getting more inputs.
It is pertinent to mention that the owner of MG Hector Car Showroom has seen inciting the people to resort the violence, stone-pelting and vandalism. In this connection the police has arrested the owner of the Car Showroom Sajjad Ahmad Baig resident of Srinagar, Mohammad Mushtaq Alam of Malik Market and Mohammad Irshad of Bathindi. Sajjad Ahmed Baig lives in Sunjwa area of Jammu these days. The police have been also trying to identify other people who spread violence and created ruckus and very near in future some other people may also be arrested. On the other hand, after the violence in Narwal, a case has been registered at the Trikuta Nagar police station under the Public Property Act, apart from attempt to murder, taking people hostage, creating ruckus, threatening. The police is engaged in scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area to identify the people who pelted stones at the policemen and injured them. Apart from this, the police has started identifying the people who are seen creating ruckus on the internet media. The police have been scanned the footage for this.
Sources said that SSP Jammu, who himself visited the spot to pacify the situation on Saturday evening after stone pelting incident, has made it clear that Law shall take care of each and every instigator and individual involved in the said incident.
