1 kg of Ganja recovered, one peddler arrested

- In the Police Station Satwari, there is an average of one FIR per day till date as today on January 16, 2023, the police has registered 16th FIR and today is the 16th day of 2023 year.

Jammu, Jan 16: The Jammu & Kashmir Police has taken a pledge to work against the drug menace in the Jammu & Kashmir and in this concern the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu District Chandan Kohli has taken it very seriously. He has appointed very skilled SHOs in the police stations of Jammu district and they all are working vigorously against the drug-peddling and drug-suppliers.
The police of Police Stations Satwari and Miran Sahib today nabbed two drug-peddlers, who have come to distribute the Ganja and Heroin among the youth of the locality. The Satwari Police arrested one drug-peddler in its jurisdiction and police of Miaran Sahib also arrested one drug-peddler. Satwari police recovered one kilogram Ganja from the arrested person and Miran Sahib police recovered 5 grams heroin, one weighing machine and one sharp edged weapon from the arrested person. These recoveries signify that police is on its job and the day is not away when it will be a drug-free society.
Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 01 kilogram of Ganja at a naka in the jurisdiction of PS Satwari Jammu. A police team of PS Satwari constituted under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma and led by SHO PS Satwari Inspector Sameer Jeelani assisted by PSI Meetu Singh rounded up a suspect namely Amola Ram son of Ram Das Ram resident of Dayaram Bhaloin Teh Kataia Distt Gopalganj. During search, total 01 kg of Ganja was recovered from his possession. In this regard, Case FIR No. 16/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act got registered at PS Satwari and accused got arrested. Further investigation of case is going on in this drug peddling case.
Whereas, the police of Police Station Miran Sahib as a part of its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, achieved major success by recovering 05 grams of heroin at a naka in its jurisdiction.
A police team of Police Station Miran Sahib constituted under the supervision of Sub Division Police Officer, RS Pura Surinder Singh and led by SHO PS Miran Sahib Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq rounded up a suspect namely Choudhary Asif Ali son of Nazir Ahmed resident of Langotian Miran Sahib Tehsil RS Pura who was coming from Kotli Mian Fateh towards Langotian side on his bike without Registration No. During search, total 05 grams of heroin, 01 electronic weighing machine and 01 sharp edged weapon was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 11/2023 U/S 8/21/22 /60 NDPS Act and 4/25 Arms Act got registered at PS Miran Sahib and accused got arrested. The investigating police team has initiated further investigation in the said case.
