On December 13, a group of two terrorists, probably the same group had struck in village Dhangri, opened fire in the Pahalyana area of Rajouri Township near the Army Hospital in which two civilians, residents of the same area, were killed and a resident of Uttrakhand was injured.
Union Home Minister will review the ground situation days after the three incidents of terror in Rajouri that left 9 people dead and 14 injured and many among them still under treatment in Jammu and at Rajouri.
As per reports, Union Home Minister will only meet the affected family members and later shall chair a high-security review meeting in Jammu.
Ashok Sharma, ex-MLA from Kalakot has thanked Amit Shah for visiting the aggrieved members of three families in Dhangri village on the occasion of Lohari.
“All the deceased have sacrificed their lives for the integrity of the country. They should be considered as freedom fighters and the families should either be provided with Gas agencies or Patrol Pumps (only 3 families) or any other facilities. Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia is not sufficient for their supreme sacrifices,” said Ashok Sharma.
He appealed to the Home Minister to constitute Security Councils at State, Province & District levels consisting of prominent members of civil society, political/social activists, and members from NGOs so that pro-active Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) be taken to root out militancy from our area.
Tight security arrangements have been made in the wake of high profile visit of the Union Home Minister to terror hit village Dhangri from Rajouri.
Meanwhile, the combing and search operations by the multi-grid security forces to track down and eliminate the two terrorists responsible for Dhangri killings entered the 11th day on Thursday.
“There was no contact with terrorists to date, but efforts were on to track them down and clean up the area of their presence, ” said a senior police officer.
