Jammu, Dec 26: Continuing its crusade against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 270 grams of heroin and cash Rs 109040 while on naka duty at Lohan Park, Paloura Jammu in the area under the jurisdictions of PS Janipur.
Agile police team of PS Janipur constituted under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar and led by SHO PS Janipur Inspector Vijay Kumar laid special naka after receiving special inputs on the basis of local intelligence generated by Jammu police along with Rajouri police, rounded up one suspect later identified as Vanit Syal son of Om Parkash resident of Androla, District Rajouri who was on his vehicle bearing Registration number JK11A 4091. During search, 270 grams of heroin and cash Rs 109040 was recovered from the accused.
In this regard case FIR No.147/2022 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act got registered at PS Janipur and accused got arrested. Further investigation of the case is going on.
Jammu police is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and in this concern questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain.
