Rajouri, October 12: Principal, Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri has issued show cause notice to 20 employees, including 19 Junior Staff Nurses (male & female) and one Matron, CSSD for leveling various false charges(during protest demonstration) against Hospital Administration following a physical scuffle between them & one Nasir Khan, Technical Assistant & his supporters(outsiders) October 10.
BJP & BJYM Rajouri units have condemned the show cause notice issued to the JSNs and alleged that the GMC Administration by adopting such tactics trying to save the influential employee who has been suspended, attached with the office of Principal GMC at Jammu and booked by the police under relevant sections of IPC.
Harish Bharti & Raja Rattan, BJYM/BJP leaders have extended their support to JSNs and have warned the Associated Hospital & Government Medical College (AH&GMC) administration to stop harassing JSNs and take action against Nasir Khan & his outsider supporters for physical attack on JSNs.
They also appealed to the Lt Governor to initiate an inquiry into the alleged nexus between the hospital employees & outsiders, mismanagement, favouritism, JSNs engaged for other jobs instead of their designated duties, who made Nasir Khan, in-charge of stores & his influence etc.
It is pertinent to mention here that since its inception, the government has not appointed permanent Principal for GMC Rajouri.
At present Dr.Shashi Sudan Sharma, Principal GMC, Jammu( 5th in-charge principal since 2018) has assumed the charge of in-charge Principal GMC Rajouri & most of the days she remains at Jammu.
Principal GMC Rajouri in show cause notice (vide order No.GMCR/2022-23/4304-4310 dt 12/10/2022) said that these 20 JSNs/Matron CSSD in viral video clips on social media platforms are seen agitating/shouting slogans beside leveling various false charges against the Hospital Administration regarding an incident of scuffle between staffers on October 10.
“You were also absent from your duties (wait duties) and also actively participated in protest (strike/agitation) instead of following the legal course of action that badly affected emergency services/patient care. You have also blocked the main gate of AH&GMC & also took the bed of the hospital along with patient Vishav Sharma (JSN injured in the scuffle)” read Principal GMC show cause notice.
“Such conduct is unbecoming of a public servant for which action is warranted under the law. You are through this show cause notice directed to explain your position why disciplinary proceedings should not be initiated against you & reply within 24 hours failing which it is presumed that you have nothing to say & strict disciplinary action then shall follow” notice further read.
It is pertinent to mention here that JSNs (male & female) had some grievances related to their designated duties & other issues and were in the chamber (on October 10) of Medical Superintendent (MS), AH&GMC to discuss with him.
Nasir Khan, a Technical Assistant, who is holding charge of the storekeeper, was also present in the chamber & during discussion, as alleged by JSNs, continue to interfere in the discussion which was objected to by representatives of JSNs including Vishav Mohan & Akshay Kumar.
Both parties had heated exchange of allegations before the MS & JSNs left the chamber to chalk out their further course of action.
As JSNs were holding discussion near the parking area, Nasir Khan along with his outsider supporters attacked them and in the physical scuffle Vishav, Akshay & Khan were injured.
Later JSNs in resentment organised a strike/protest demonstration against the Hospital Administration.
After their demands, the Principal (officiating) suspended Nasir Khan & attached at Jammu and police also registered a case against him/ unidentified supporters.
