Rare achievement for Nari-Niketan, two students selected as police constables

Their selection will inspire others staying in Bal Ashrams & Nari Niketans: Sheetal Nanda

Rajouri, Oct 9: Sheetal Nanda, Commissioner/ Secretary to Government, Social Welfare Department while congratulating the two students of Nari-Niketan Rajouri selected for the post of constable in J&K Police said: “Their achievement will act as an inspiration for other candidates staying in Bal Ashrams and Nari Niketans”.
Vivek Sharma, Director General, Social Welfare Department, Jammu has also congratulated Punam Devi and Sonia Kousar for their selection as a constable in J&K police.
“An enabling environment is being created in all the institutions of the department to pave the way for the overall development of the enrolled students & more facilities for the welfare of the students are in the offing and shall be made available to the enrolled students in due course of time,” said Vivek Sharma.
District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) & Superintendent, Nari Niketan has also congratulated Punam & Sonia for bringing laurels and appreciation for the institution.
Both, Punam Devi and Sonia Kousser were admitted in Nari-Niketan at Rajouri in the year 2011 and have completed their studies while living in the institute.
Punam Devi after completing her graduation got a diploma in Computer operator and programming Assistant & Fashion design.
Sonia Kouseer, a resident of a far-flung area in the Rajouri district, also completed her graduation while staying in the Nari-Niketan.
After graduation, Sonia completed a two-year diploma in Draftsmen (Civil), a one-year diploma in computer software, and a one-year diploma in tourism from Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri.
Punam and Sonia after selection in the J&K police have expressed their gratitude to the Social Welfare department for providing them with the best possible facilities and guidance that led to their selection.
They expressed their happiness in joining the Police force with the commitment to work hard in the future.
District Social Welfare officer, Rajouri, Wakeel Ahmad Bhat, and Superintendent, Nari Niketan Rajouri, Nidhi Sharma said: “It became possible only due to wholehearted support provided by the higher authorities,”.
