Infant declared Covid negative in RT-PCR result after one day

Rajouri, Nov 23: On Wednesday first time in the Rajouri district an infant, who was brought to Government Medical College and Associated Hospital (GMC&AH) Rajouri for circumcision surgery, was found positive in a pre-surgery Covid RAT test.
“The surgery was deferred after the RAT result was found positive. For confirmation samples of the infant were collected for RT-PCR test and the result is declared negative today. The surgery will be performed within next 1 or 2 days” said Dr. Mehmood Hussain Bajar, Medical Superintendent, GMC&AH.
Meanwhile, Enforcement teams while enforcing Covid-19 protocol across the Rajouri district on Thursday fined scores of violators for roaming without wearing face masks and not maintaining a physical distance and recovered fines worth Rs 22, 650.
It has been witnessed that across the district the people have been found violating Covid Appropriate Behaviours (CABs) with impunity.
Result for more than 1700 tests was received on Thursday out of which four positive cases were detected & with that the number of active cases in the district has raised to 17 while six patients have also recovered today.
Out of seventeen active Covid cases, 3 patients are under treatment in the GMC&AH at Rajouri, three are under treatment in the Army /BSF hospital, & 10 are in the home isolation.
As per the daily bulletin issued on Thursday as many as 1005 people above 18 years of age were administered first (83) and second (922) Covid vaccine doses across the district, thus bringing the cumulative number of doses administered in the district to 8,33,130.
During the first & second waves 6,40,9975 tests, including RAT (4,86,270)and RT-PCR (1,54,705) have been conducted to date in district among them 11318 were tested positive out of which 11063 have recovered while 238.
As per the media bulletin during the second wave of Covid pandemic, 4, 69.049 people have been tested for Covid-virus infection to date, out of which 7446 were declared positive.
Enforcement Teams (ETs) fined scores of violators of Covid-19 SOPs on Thursday and have recovered a fine of Rs 22,650 taking the total amount fined since April 1 to Rs 65,12,384.
