ADGP Jammu Zone reviewed security scenario in Rajouri & Poonch districts

Rajouri, Nov 16: In order to review the present security scenario- subsequent to ongoing 35 days long Counter-Terrorist Operation against the group(s) of terrorists involved in the killing of nine soldiers-, Mukesh Singh-IPS, Additional Director General of Police (Jammu Zone) on Tuesday visited border districts of Rajouri & Poonch.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Mukesh Singh was accompanied by DIG Rajouri-Poonch Police Range Vivek Gupta-IPS and other senior Police officers.
ADGP held meetings with Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP) of both the districts and later issued necessary directions to both the SSPs on security and crime-related matters.
The ADGP Jammu Zone also held meeting with officers from the Civil, Police, Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFss) deployed in the district.
The Intelligence agencies appraised about the present security scenario in the border districts.
During the meeting, ADGP Jammu Zone emphasized the collective measures to tackle security situations and subversive acts by the terrorists and their masters across the border.
He stressed upon all officers to put in place effective measures for maintaining peace and order in coordination with CAPFs with special emphasis on counter-terrorist operations in view of the recent encounters in Poonch and Rajouri.
“Pakistan sponsored elements are time and again making attempts to damage growing peaceful atmosphere here to disturb normal public life and their evil attempts would be dealt with fortitude. Enhance security measures and proactive Counter Terrorist operations to neutralize the terrorists present in both districts,” said ADGP, Jammu Zone.
He directed the officers to keep close surveillance over the activities of Over Ground Workers, mischief mongers, and miscreants so that law & order is maintained at all cost.
ADGP Jammu Zone also emphasised upon to be vigilant on the border to prevent infiltration attempts & reactivation of Border Police Posts for this purpose.
Mukesh Singh, ADGP Jammu Zone complimented DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, SSPs of Rajouri & Poonch districts, and other Territorial Officers for their good work in the maintenance of peace, and urged them to continue their good work and make further efforts to strengthen Police-Public relation in the area.
