DM Rajouri reinstates suspended doctor after CMO’s report

Rajouri, Oct 27: Dr. Shabab Ahmed (Nodal officer Covid-19 Thanamandi) who was suspended for dereliction of Covid duties and is posted as a dental surgeon at CHC, Thanamandi . has been reinstated after the inquiry report submitted by the Chief Medical Officer. Dr.Shabab, was placed under suspension vide DM order dated 30/9.2021 for dereliction of duty when 32 students of a private school were tested positive at Thanamandi. Before the opening of the schools, instructions were passed from the office of DM Rajouri for aggressive testing of the students& stall all over the district.
On 27/9/2021 during testing at one of the private schools at Thanamandi town, 32 cases (students) were detected Covid-19 positive and all the students, after large-scale resentment from the public and parents, were tested negative the next day after RT-PCR tests were conducted. For dereliction of duty, Dr.Shabab was placed under suspension by the DM with immediate effect, pending further inquiry into the matter. DM action was condemned by the officeholders of Dental Associations of J&K State and Jammu Province and had demanded the cancelation of the suspension. “On 13/10/2021 Dr. Shamim Un Nisa, Chief Medical officer submitted an inquiry report to DM and requested for the reinstatement of Dr. Shabab on the basis of various inputs” read DM order issued on Wednesday. “Taking a considerate view in the matter, Dr. Shabab Ahmed, Nodal Officer Thanamandi, who was placed under suspension, is hereby reinstated with immediate effect. He shall remain careful in the future towards his duties and shall work with full dedication” reads DM Order.
