Jammu, Oct 20: A 47-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his residence in Digiana Ashram area here in the city outskirts.
Police said that the man identified as Raghubir Singh, 47, a resident of district Reasi, who was staying in Jammu, was found hanging this afternoon at his residence.
“His daughters when returned from tuition classes, on seeing their father hanging, raised a hue and cry following which police was informed,” they said.
Police team shifted the body to the Government Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem while the cause of death is yet to be ascertained, said a police officer.
The deceased, who was the father of three kids, used to work in a factory in Gangyal Industrial Area.
Police also revealed that the deceased had also gone missing a couple of months ago and his wife had lodged a missing report with the nearby police post.
“We are investigating the matter and the circumstances that led him to take an extreme step,” said the officer. UNI
