Sikh Youth Sewa Trust protests, condemns killings of teachers in Valley

Centre failed to ensure safety, security of minorities in Kashmir Valley: Tejinder Pal Singh (Aman)

Jammu, Oct 8: Members of Sikh Youth Sewa Trust today staged protest over the killings of two teachers by terrorists in Srinagar.
Led by Tejinder Pal Singh (Aman), Chairman of the Trust, the protesters raised slogans against the BJP Government at the Centre for its failure over unabated killings in Kashmir Valley.
Talking to reporters here today, Tejinder Pal Singh condemned the gruesome killing of two innocent teachers including a woman by terrorists in Kashmir and alleged that the Central Government headed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completely failed to provide security to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Singh asked the government to act tough against the perpetrators of this heinous crime against humanity, demanding security measures that can prevent such brutal killings across Kashmir. He said that the agony and pain through which the families of victims would be now going through is inexpressible.
“This senseless violence seems to have no end as even women folk are not being spared now. What justification can be given for these cold blooded killings?” he asked.
Singh stated that just after a day when three civilians were shot dead and the people were still in mourning, it is nerve-breaking that two more civilians have been killed, sending shock waves across Jammu and Kashmir. “These nefarious designs are meant to disturb the peace and tranquility in J&K. However, people of J&K share a strong social bonding and would definitely defeat the plans of forces inimical to peace,” he added.
Singh said that governments both at the Centre and in the UT have lost relevance as the entire administration in J&K busy in PR exercise of ministers of PM Narendra Modi’s government and are least bothered about the security and safety of the people.
Singh said that over last three months the security situation in the UT has worsened with terrorists acting on their free will without any fear of law or law implementing agencies. He said it is unfortunate that J&K is witnessing terror acts on almost a regular basis but the government representatives are doing nothing except sending big press notes in the media condemning the incidents and giving counter threats of strong action against terror mongers.
Singh said that the situation is alarming and reverting towards 1990.
He asked the Central Government to take stringent measures to check this process immediately and ensure the safety and security of people, belonging to minority community, living in Kashmir Valley. He also demanded adequate ex-gratia relief to the families of the victims, although no money compensate the loss of lives to the victim families.
