Major drug bust! Kathua police nab 02 drug peddlers, seize 200 gm of Heroin

KATHUA : In a major breakthrough in the ongoing fight against the drug menace, Kathua Police have arrested two drug peddlers and seized approximately 200 grams of heroin (Chitta) from their possession. The arrest took place in the jurisdictional area of Police Post Industrial Estates, Kathua, as part of the district’s relentless efforts to curb drug trafficking and ensure the safety of the community.
The action was carried out by a special police team acting on credible intelligence inputs. A police team led by PSI Shubham Mahajan, the Incharge Officer of Police Post Industrial Estates Kathua, conducted a successful operation near Peer Baba Beerian Pattan Link Road. The operation was supervised by DySP Hqrs Kathua Manjeet Singh and Station House Officer Police Station Kathua, Inspector Ajay Singh Chib.
During the operation, the police apprehended two individuals, both residents of Chak Handa, Tehsil Marheen, District Kathua. The accused have been identified as: Shab Ali, son of Sher Din and Sattu, son of Nammu Din.
The duo was found in possession of 200 grams of heroin-like narcotics, which were carefully concealed. The police also seized a motorcycle (Splendor) from their possession, believed to have been used for transporting the illegal substances.
The arrested individuals were immediately taken into police custody, and further investigations are underway. The police have registered a case under FIR No. 04/2025, invoking sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Kathua.
