Genuine demands to be resolved!
- The Patwaris of ten districts of Jammu province have decided to observe pen down strike for the redressal of their demands and they can extend the strike after a review meeting of AJKPA.
- The government must promote 75% Naib Tebsildar from the department and rest 25% may be appointed directly by JKSSB.

Jammu, Feb 10: The Patwaris of the Jammu Province has observed pen down strike in the entire Jammu province under the banner of All Jammu & Kashmir Patwar Assoication in all the ten districts to press for their genuine demands, which are pending for couple of years and government has to take final call.
As per the press release, the decision was taken by AJKPA in regard of observing a peaceful pen down strike in all the 10 Districts of Jammu Province to raise the voice for redressal of their genuine demands which are pending since long. In this concern, the charter of demands stand submitted to all the officers sitting at the helm of affairs/higher authorities from time to time. The demands have been highlighted from time to time through all possible channels. This was told by Nisar Ahmed Bhat vice president, AJKPA Jammu province.
It is worthwhile to mention here that AJKPA had a meeting with Commissioner/Secretary Revenue Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on 9th March 2022 in which representatives of AJKPA raised all the demands of Patwaris and the demands were considered genuine, whereas an assurance was given by Vijay Kumar Bidhuri Commissioner/Secretary Revenue for redressal of all the genuine demands within a period of one month. The formal minutes of meeting for the said meeting were issued vide No: Rev/NG/148/2018/56905 dated 09-03-2022.
However despite lapse of considerable time period the genuine demands are still pending for redressal thereby forcing the patwaries to opt the path of pen down strike. Regarding the strike call given by AJKPA the representatives have decided to consider the extension of token strike in case government failed to redress their genuine demands. However the formal decision for extension of strike call will be taken tomorrow after proper consultation with all the District Presidents.
AJKPA has strongly urged the government to immediate redress their genuine demands so that the government work in general and public in particular may not suffer due to the pen down strike.
The main demands included – Enhancement of Grade Pay to Rs 2800; Transfer/Posting of Girdawars in respective home districts; To tackle the harassment faced by Patwaris; Enhancement of quota for departmental promotion for the post of Naib Tehsildar; and Creation of new Patwar Halqas and GQ Cricles,
AJKPA appeals all the basic members to remain united at this crucial time period and support every decision taken by association without giving attention to any rumour.
