Anil of Uttrakhand was injured while two civilians were killed on December 16

Rajouri, Jan 6: The lone eyewitness namely Anil Kumar of the December 16 firing incident (terror attack) near the Army hospital at Phalyana (Rajouri Township), in which two innocent civilians were killed, has been discharged from Associated Hospital & Government Medical College (AH&GMC) Rajouri after 22 days.
‘Doctors, especially Gopal & Vikas and Medical Superintendent Dr. Mehmood ji and a team of paramedics & nurses have played a major role in my recovery. I am happy. I have been provided free treatment besides food & other facilities. I would be thankful to them forever,” said Anil while leaving the hospital.
Anil Kumar, a resident of Uttrakhand and working in a private store, informed that in the early morning hours, two unidentified persons entered his rented room and opened fire on him and after that he got unconscious.
Within minutes both the unidentified terrorists opened fire on two civilians at the nearby Army’s TCP camp gate of and both disappeared from the site.
The incident led to massive protests claiming that the sentry posted at the gate opened fire at approaching two civilians in a mistaken identity.
While the White Knight Corps, in a tweet from its official handle, said: “In an early morning firing incident by unidentified terrorists at Rajouri near Military Hospital, there has been fatal casualty of two individuals. The police, security forces and civil administration officials are on the site.”
Dr. Mehmood Hussain Bajar, Medical Superintendent, AH&GMC said that Anil Kumar was brought to the hospital in critical condition with multiple bullet injuries in the abdominal, lung & chest.
“Anil’s life parameters were down. Our dedicated team of doctors, paramedics & nurses immediately shifted him to the trauma room, resuscitated and revived and the doctors then decided for the operation which continued for about 6 hours” said Dr. Mehmmod.
After the operation, Anil was kept for 72 hours on the life support system and then shifted to ICU.
“Now Anil is fully recovered and we decided to discharge him on Friday. It becomes possible only due to the dedicated efforts of our team of doctors, paramedics and nurses under the overall supervision of the Principal, GMC. Our team is happy that we could save the life of a critically injured person” said Dr. Mehmood.
