War on drugs!
- The SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli IPS is determined to eliminate the drug menace from Jammu district and has directed all the SHOs to do best in the regard.

Jammu, Dec 4: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 40.5 grams of heroin and nabbed 3 drug-peddlers in two different places. During patrolling duty a police team of Janipur Police Station recovered 37 grams and nabbed two drug-peddlers, whereas, Miran Sahib police has recovered 3.5 grams heroin and arrested one drug peddler in this connection.
A police team of Police Station Janipur constituted under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar and led by SHO PS Janipur Inspector Vijay Kumar assisted by ASI Tarsem Lal rounded up two suspects, Tasidaq Hussain son of Mohd Hussain resident of Bandi Poonch a/p Chinore and Suraj Badyal son of Lt Napal Singh resident of Kistwar a/p Janipur.
During search, 37 grams of heroin was recovered from them.
In this regard Case FIR No. 135/2022 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act got registered at PS Janipur and accused got arrested.
In another incident Police Party of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq assisted by ASI Ranjit Singh under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh established a special naka at Chak Alawal for checking/frisking of vehicles/pedestrian. During checking one motorcycle bearing registration No. JK02CM-4591 driven by one person coming from Bishnah towards Kotli Mian Fateh stopped for checking on suspicious grounds. During questioning he disclosed his name as Ramesh Kumar S/O Rattan Chand R/O Chak Alawal Tehsil RS Pura district Jammu. During his personal search 3.5 grams of heroine (chitta) like substance recovered from his possession.
In this regard a case FIR No. 160/2022 U/S 8/21/22 /60 NDPS Act stands registered.
In both the cases further investigation is going on.
Jammu police under the wise guidance of SSP Jammu Mr Chandan Kohli is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain.
