Patients are suffering but authority silent!
- Period of ten years is the biggest period but for Health Department, it is not an issue and it is in deep slumber.
- The BMO Akhnoor told that within some days the Sub District Hospital Akhnoor will function in its new building.

Jammu, Nov 24: It is astounding but it is true that a newly constructed building of hundred bedded Sub District Hospital Akhnoor, which was started in the year 2012 and e-inaugurated in May 2022 by the then Additional Chief Secretary Health & Medical Education, Jammu & Kashmir is still awaiting shifting of hospital.
The reports pouring in the office of Jammu Jottings that new building for Sub District Hospital Akhnoor is still waiting for its shifting, which was started in 2012 by the then government for felicitation of the patients so that the patients may get big, spacious and modernized hospital equipped with latest techniques of the treatment. The building worth crores have been started in 2012 and it has missed several deadlines but in 2022 it has been completed,
In the month of May, 2022 the then Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Jammu & Kashmir Mr Vivek Bharadwaj IAS has e-inaugurated the building for the public but still the said hospital is operating in old building and the new building is awaiting for shifting of Hospital.
The non-operational of the hospital building shows the callousness of the health department and it is the people who are suffering despite having the building of hundred bedding Sub District Hospital. Besides, every department would function in the hospital so that people may get all sorts of facilities on their door step.
When the concerned Block Medical Officer Akhnoor Dr Mohd Saleem Khan was contacted through mobile then he said, “It has been inaugurated by the then Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Jammu & Kashmir Mr Vivek Bharadwaj IAS in the month of May through e-inauguration but it has not been shifted as the building is lacking of equipments of latest technique, which was unavailable in 2012 but now available.” He further said that hospital would be shifted in newly constructed building within 20 days tentatively. He remained elusive over its re-inauguration but assured that people will not suffer more.
