Rajouri, Sept 12: After 5 days of Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi’s visit to forward areas, Today (Monday) GOC, White Knight Corps, Lt Gen Manjinder Singh visited areas along Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri and Nowshera sectors & reviewed the security situation.
Lt Col Devender Anand, PRO Defence Jammu said: “ Lt Gen Manjinder Singh GOC @ Whiteknight_IA visited areas along LoC in #Rajouri&#Nowshera sectors in J&K.He reviewed the operational preparedness, interacted with all ranks & expressed confidence over the operational readiness”.
It is pertinent to mention here that for the last few months the terrorists have increased their activities in both the border districts of Rajouri & Poonch.
In the last week of August, the Indian Army had foiled three infiltration bids made from across the LoC in Lam & Jhangar sectors in the Nowshera sub-division in Rajouri district.
Two terrorists were killed in the minefields while another Tabarak Hussain was captured (August 21) but died (September 3) due to cardiac arrest in the Army hospital at Rajouri.
There are intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists along LoC opposite to Rajouri & Poonch districts and the Indian troops are already on high alert.
On September 8, Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi visited forward areas in Rajouri district and reviewed the operational preparedness & interacted with all ranks.
He expressed confidence in the operational readiness & strong anti-infiltration grid adopted by troops.
Earlier on August 6, Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande (August 6) visited the forward areas in Rajouri & Poonch districts & reviewed the operational preparedness along the Line of Control.
He also interacted with all ranks & exhorted them to keep working with the same zeal & enthusiasm.
