DC Jammu to hold meeting, 05 vehicles seized for illegal mining

• The District Mining Officer Jammu is very professional and he seized near about 100 vehicles involved in illegal mining within ten days.

Jammu, Aug 01: Taking serious note of illegal mining in Jammu district, the Deputy Commissioner Jammu has decided to hold an emergent meeting on 04-08-2022 at 4 pm, in this concern so that illegal mining be stopped immediately.
The sources told that in the wake of publishing of news item everyday regarding illegal mining in the Jammu, the Deputy Commissioner Jammu was constrained to call an emergent meeting so that a purposeful strategy to be devised to contain the illegal mining. In a letter signed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu Minga Sherpa IAS dated 02-08-2022 vide letter No DMJ/LO/22-23/9305-20 invites the concerned officers including Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu; Divisional Forest Officer, Jammu Forest Division, Jammu; Superintendent Engineer, Hydraulic Circle, Jammu; Joint Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Jammu; Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, Rural Division, Jammu; Executive Engineer, irrigation & Flood Control Department, Division-I, Jammu; Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Jammu; Sub Divisional Magistrate, Jammu South; Sub Divisional Magistrate, RS Pura; Assistant Director, Fisheries, Jammu; District Mining Officer, Jammu; all Tehsildars of Jammu district and all SHO of Jammu district.
Meanwhile, in a quest to stern the menace of illegal mining, a multi-pronged strategy was devised by Jammu Police in which police team of PS Satwari, PS Miran Sahib, PP Chinore and PP Chatha acted stringently on the specific inputs and raided at different locations in their respective areas and seized 05 vehicles involved in illegal mining. Details of the vehicle seized are as under:
Two vehicles i.e one tractor bearing Registration No JK02AX1018 and one bearing chasis number MBNAAAL2BLRL01062 by PS Satwari, whereas one dumper without Registration No seized by PS Miran Sahib. Another tractor trolley bearing Registration No JK02BM 8776 seized by PP Chinore in the same offence, whereas one Tractor Trolley bearing Chassis No. MBNGAALDDMRE01758 seized by PP Chatha
The recoveries were made by SHO PS Satwari Inspr Sameer Jeelani, SHO PS Miran Sahib Inspr Zaheer Mushtaq, I/C PP Chinore PSI Ameet Singh and I/C PP Chatha SI Ranjit Singh Chib in their respective jurisdictions.
DMO Jammu was also intimated about the same.
The mining was done in violation of order of High Court of J&K. In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law, Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
